We believe that Scouting is an important part of the physical, mental, and spiritual development of our youth!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We’re glad your family has joined Scouting, or is considering it. We know your youth will have a great adventures with Troop 114. Our Troop began in February 1923 with a scoutmaster, one assistant, three committee members, and eleven energized youth and continues to thrive due to the dedication of its volunteer leaders and parents like you! We all believe that Scouting is an important part of the physical, mental, and spiritual development of our youth.

While requiring that its members acknowledge a fundamental belief in a supreme God, the Boy Scouts of America organization does not define the specifics of any particular religion except to say that God must be the center of it. The BSA encourages its members to actively practice their own religious faith in worship of Him. Scouting is a non-denominational religious and educational institution and all faiths are welcome.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
