Spring Camporee


Location:  Cub World - Peterloon Fields

Date: 4/22 - 4/24


REGISTRATION ENDS: 4/18/16 at Noon.

Opening and set up will have a taste bud screening that will ID scouts that are super tasters and may help them understand why they may be a picky eater.
Saturday am will have a breakfast entry to the judges table by 9:30am. This is to be their best one plate / pancake or serving of a breakfast.

10am     Round 1. There are 4 stations. Each will last 45 min and then a 15 transition to the

        Round 2  11-12am stations.

From 12-1:30 units will get a mystery basket and then return a plate from the ingredients to the judges table by 1:30pm.

        Round 3. 2-3pm
        Round 4  3-4pm

Dinner competition is one serving of a 1 pot meal.  Turned into judges table at 5:30pm

Awards and pot luck Dutch oven deserts at campfire at 8pm.

The rotations are
1- nontraditional cooking methods
2- cast iron cooking
3- cooking with seasoned flavor
4- back pack meals

Sampling and cooking demonstrations will be at all rounds for scouts and leaders to sample. Instruction will be shared on tips and tricks.

Each entry to the judges table will be scored on taste, presentation, and creativity.

This is the plan. Any free time in between is up to the troop. It looks like a full day. Troops need to be able to think in the go and have some cooking seasonings to use in the lunch mystery basket challenge.
